I looked at your post and it shows you contacted USCIS on 5/20/11 because you haven't received appointment for your biometrics, am I right? I'm in your same situation, I sent all my documents and received the NOA.

Same situation as me.

May I know what did they tell you? I planned a trip and hopefully my appointment is not scheduled at that time.

All they did was submit a request to the Vermont Service Center to see what is happening. They gave me a reference number and told me that Vermont will contact me within 30 days with an update.

As long as 30 days have passed since you received your NOA then you can call them. Basically they just ask you to confirm all of your details (A number, NOA receipt number, DOB, contact address, phone and email, etc).

My husband's are done as well. His also had to re-do a couple of fingers because they didn't come out right. The place was pretty much empty when we went in for his appointment. It only took 15-20 minutes. Now back to just waiting.

Just curious and to get people talking...how did you originally come into the US? If it was spousal based, how did you meet your spouse? Dennis came from Canada on a K1 visa to marry me in 2009. We met in 2005 while playing World of Warcraft, but didn't get into any sort of a romantic relationship until 2007 when we met in person for the first time.

My husband and I met on myspace back in early 06.

We also did a lot of chatting and emailing and calling before we met each other. We had our marriage in 06, and this August we will be married for 5 years, with 2 kids....

My timeline:

On another note, I had my biometrics yesterday. We were the last group to have the biometrics for that day so the office was very empty and everyone was in a good mood, ready to go home. I guess it took me about 15-20 minutes just because I was the last one of our group of 3 and only 2 computers. 2 of my fingers were rejected as well. I guess that's normal. I asked her what is the next step. She said about 85% will get their card in the mail, 15% will get another interview and 1% will get deported......... Let's pray we can all be in that 85%!

What I don't get is how everyone lately is going in for their biometrics and they are saying that the place is almost empty, yet they tell me they can't make me an appointment yet because they are backed up. ??? I don't understand that. And you are right, we have to pay to wait. Ugh...I really am praying we get our green card before we travel in September. I feel like bah humbug!! :crying:

On a lighter note..in response to the question earlier. My husband and I met on Yahoo chat back in Feb. 2008. He randomly picked my name in the chat room to start a personal chat with and that was it! We fell in love...chatted online via video chat for 9 months, then I flew to Jordan to meet him & we got married. I stayed in Jordan 3 weeks and we sent in our paperwork for the CR-1 visa the following month. He got approved in June 2009 and has been here in the US with me since. Wow..doesn't seem like we've been married almost 3 years now. Time seems like it really flies except when you have to go through the next step in immigration then its like is creeping by!!

Good luck to everyone! I hope we get good news soon!

I don't understand that either. It's only been 35 days since I got the NOA1, I didn't want to call yet but now I'm tempted to see if they give me the same excuse they gave you!

I guess we all just need to relax and hope for the best. I wish good luck to all of you... or as we say in Texas... y'all!!

Agreed. Good luck yall! :)

When I called I got transferred to an immigration officer. She said the biometrics appointment will be given to me when they have an available slot at my local office. I asked her if it's normal to wait this long for an appointment and she said it was. I was kind of distracted as we were driving our cats to the vet but she said something about contacting the local office and it taking 30 days, I'm not sure how they would get back to me about that though? I guess if I don't get my appointment in 30 days from now then I will call back. :bonk:

How long has it been for you now? 45 days?

So they did give you the same answer as me. Only they gave you the same answer over the phone, they sent me an e-mail after I called them. Its been 49 days (counting weekend days) since our NOA receipt date. So we'll see how long it takes to get us the biometrics appointment letter. I will let you all know as soon as I hear. This sucks. :(
