Hi, I am planning to go home next week and i just want to check that I will not have any problems travelling back. My GC is expiring June 24 but NOA states that it is extended for additional year. So if I have both with me I should be fine?

took care of bio apt yesterday. super quick and easy...went in 15 mins before scheduled time...walked out 5 mins before scheduled time :D now the waiting begins...AGAIN!

Tihana_12 you are going to be just fine since you have NOA. I plan to go home in july when my GC expires, but I have NOA as well so I am not worried.

Friday will be 1 month since I received the NOA1, yours arrived a few days after mine I think? Hopefully we will hear something in the next next week or two.

I feel bad for k84 and Amanda and Raad, they've been waiting a long time! Until they have received something I'm not going to worry too much about the time it takes to arrive. :)

k84, are you going to call on monday if you don't hear anything by then?

I'm a patient person but I know they don't start processing the case until they have the biometrics in their system. The longer this takes, the longer the whole process takes.

I will call Monday if I don't receive anything today or Saturday. I'll let everyone know what the outcome is.

Ok so I called USCIS after it had been 30 days past NOA receipt date & no biometrics appointment had been received. They told me, oh they are a little behind, just wait 30 days past the day you actually got the NOA physically in the mail. So May 12th made 30 days past receipt of NOA. Wednesday we called USCIS again and they put in a service request to VSC for non receipt of biometrics appointment letter. They told me if I hadn't heard anything within 30 days to call back. Then yesterday I got and e-mail from USCIS stating this:

The status of this service request is:

Our records indicate that your biometrics appointment is pending due to limited capacity at your local Application Support Center (ASC). We will schedule an appointment for you when a time becomes available at the ASC and mail you an appointment notice. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. :bonk::angry:

Typical Government incompetence. I love how we pay for the privilege of slow and delayed processing.

I do find it convenient that VSC is blaming the local ASC though. Sure :rolleyes:

Husband done with biometrics today at the Detroit office. He said he was the only one there and the whole thing took about 10 minutes or less.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I called today and they have submitted a request to VSC to find out what the status of my case is and when I should receive the biometrics appointment letter. I'll post again when I hear anything from them.
