My husband and I are just gathering all the forms and going to be sending our AOS to Chicago soon and wanted to ask you a few questions im not sure if you know or can send me to someone on VJ that would. My husband came here last Nov/10 on a visit visa from Nigeria and we met online in Dec/10 and had instant connection, we were married in Feb/11 and now are going to file for AOS for his perm/residence....We have filled out the I-130/I-485/I-765/g-325/and I-864 and finished medicals. I believe the cost in $1070.00 as well as $420.00 for I-130 to be sent along with paperwork, my other question is do we have to have his/my divorce papers, birth certicate for both of us, and police report from Nigeria (not sure since hes here already) as well to send along for AOS if we are filing with him being in the US already?

Thank you for your replys...

I can't speak on the police reports. Maybe someone who adjusted in the same way from Nigeria will be able to answer this but you need to send the copies of the divorce decrees and copies of the birth certificates.

The cost is correct.

NO, you don't need to send any police reports from Nigeria.

Why do you say that?

My understanding is that if you answered yes to the arrests/convictions question on Form I-485 and the incident(s) occurred in Nigeria, then you certainly _do_ have to send police reports from Nigeria.

Agreed. If the petitioner has any criminal history, i.e. if you have to answer "yes" to any of the questions in I-485 regarding your past, then YES, you do need to submit supporting documents regarding the crime and situation.

If all your answers are "No", then you do not need a police report.

Hi ....Just wanted to let you know that my husband has or had no convictions in Nigeria as he would have not recieved his visit visa to come to the states. He had to show a police report to get his visa in Nigeria. Now that he is here and were beginning AOS I wondered if he needed a police report but the answers will be no on the I-485 just as they were in Nigeria.

Thanks for the help:)
