Hi guys,

I was trying to update my timeline, but when I was going to enter Chicago, IL, I saw "[-] AOS data section Local CIS office nearest you. (not the Chicago address you mail to)".

I shocked immediately!! Did I send my AOS package to the wrong place? SHould I send to my local CIS office?

I sent my I-485 AOS package to Chicago, IL.

what does "[-] AOS data section Local CIS office nearest you. (not the Chicago address you mail to)" mean? What is this?

I'm confused.

Thanks

XH

The local office is where your biometrics and your interview take place. You file the papers to Chicago.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Everybody sends their AOS petition to Chicago. You didn't send it to the wrong place. The information requested on the timeline is not where you sent the petition but where you will have an interview, presuming you are scheduled for an interview. This would be your local USCIS field office. Collecting this information is useful to other people who might be interviewing at the same field office because the accumulated statistics from members will give people an idea how long it takes to get an interview scheduled at that office.
