This is what I have in my AOS packet:

1. Cover sheet with barcode

2. I-864 application

3. Letter from employer

4. Paystubs from Jan 2010 until now

5. Letter from union for pension lifetime benefits

6. Tax return and W-2's for 2010

7. Tax transcripts from IRS and W-2's for 2009 and 2008

IV packet:

1. Cover sheet with barcode

2. DS-230 Part 1 signed, Part II unsigned

3. Birth certificate, translation, copy

4. Court record (no record), translation, copy

5. Marriage certificate, translation, copy (Ohhh I'm so sad to send this, I better get it back)

6. Passport biographic page, cover, inside cover (or back inside, not sure) Do I need to send a copy of this also?

7. 2 passport photos

8. Police record, translation, copy

Is there anything at all that I'm forgetting? Did I read somewhere in a post that you're supposed to put the case number on the top right side of every piece of paper? Or was it a different number? Is there anything else that I need to do before I send it? Also, how did you all submit the photos, did you put them in a see-thru baggie or something like that?

Thank you! :)

AOS item 6 - include 3 years, not just 2010 - as Casablanca is massively #######.

IV packet - PHOTOCOPIES of all civil documents. Add Them.

Time for Review?

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

(read all pages, use the page changer at top of page, not the 'next' at the bottom)

Good Luck !

Thanks! I did list 2009 and 2008 in #7 so I guess I'm covered there:)

I also listed a copy for each one, just worded it differently, so I guess I'm covered there. Awesome!

I do remember reading somewhere about writing something on the upper right corner of every (?) page, but I'm not sure what.....if it was the case number or something else. I will look through your links, and see if I can find the answer to that.

Thanks a lot :)

My husband didn't send a certified copy because we thought we had to send the original and I probably can't do it here, I'm sure it has to be done in the country of origin, so I guess I'm stuck mailing my original in :( I should've told him he had to send his, it's his packet LOL Well he offered but I said that I would send mine, but I don't think he really wanted to give his up either. At least once he's here we will have one that will be both of ours (if I don't get mine back for whatever reason).

Thank you :)

it's a double-dutch math problem.

See, for the DS-230 - yer supposed to send in the original plus a regular photocopy.

NO ONE AT NVC is gonna make that photocopy for you - it's a waste of goverment time, energy, and paper.

So - the basic principle is -

IF you include a photocopy, original will be returned on interview day (except the police report)

I sent the original and "certified" copies of the police cert and court certificate with the certified transation with certified copies. I was told that Casa/NVC may reject the IV packet. They never rejected what I sent. You may want to get the certified copies before sending it in to avoid a RFE. Casa will look for any reason to refuse. I wish you the best.

It's too late for that....his police and court records are going to expire in 1 1/2 months. I don't have your message anymore, but I thought I remembered reading that he should have certified copies for the consulate. I either misunderstood when I read it, or just forgot  .....I'm going to send as is, with the original, translation, and photocopy. It's an original, with stamps, hopefully that will be ok.... Thank you.

I'm a little confused on Part III - #8.......It has a box to check for "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above"

I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above. (with a box to check)

Of course, I checked the box. But directly underneath is this (with boxes):

Yes No (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)

Yes or not to what? Am I saying yes, that I am sponsoring him again? I don't get it. There is no question, it's just as you see with boxes next to them. The instructions don't say anything about it. I checked yes and printed it all out, but I'm questioning it because it doesn't make sense.
