Should I make one more trip or not? Help!

I met my husband in January of 2010 while visiting Jamaica for my grandfather's funeral. I have phone records showing that we talked everyday on the phone since that date up until July 2010 when I stayed there with him until September 2010.

The only picture we have together are our wedding pictures (Bad!)

After comming back home in september I have more sets of phone records of us talking on the phone everyday up until this current day. I have emails that we send to each other also and letters from friends and family saying they know about our marriage and that it is genuwine. Also I think we should have opended a bank account there together . . .

I personally feel that we may still may need more proof (especially photos) of our marriage and one more possible visit before I should start the process. I quit my job for the July to September visit but I like the job I have now at the moment so I'm really debating if I should plan another trip. (Most likely I won't get a two week vacation any time soon) And I dread being around some of his family members again . . . should I go or not?

If it's not a financial burden on you, I think you should go home for another visit. You need to have as much proof of a bonafide relationship as you can to be successful. I wish you all the best.

Another trip would be good, as yours is a difficult consulate.

Where are you in the process? Maybe you could go there a week or two before his interview, take photos, and be there for the interview?

Penguin_ie I have not started any official paperwork as yet. I wanted to at the end of april but I have to consider making another trip. So April is on hold.

You've received some good advice thus far. It is imperative that you show that you two have a bonafide relationship. Unfortunately, only pictures from your wedding may not be enough. I definitely suggest trying to take another trip if it is fiscally possible. I would not, however, suggest you quit your job again. Remember you also have to show that you are stable here as well and able to support your husband upon his arrival in the states. Good luck.

Yes another visit would be good. Also get letters notarized (affidavits) from several people for evidence of a bona fide marriage. I had sent pictures and boarding passes from several travels (3-4) but we did not send affidavits and it wasn't enough and we got an RFE. Affidavits are a must.

Consider the amount of time you have until you actually interview at the embassy - you can file with what you have now, and make another trip when you are waiting for approval - then at the interview you will have more pictures and further proof.

Make another trip if possible. I am of the opinion that you will want more photos than just your wedding when you file. My take about filing with only the pictures you have now and then taking more picture and bringing them to the interview is the CO may not ask to see the extra pictures.

Definitely file now if you have the paperwork. You can go visit and take pictures while you wait.. you're going to want to anyway, the wait is looooong. Showing up for the interview is always a good idea too.

A trip post 130 filing , if possible , will help ALL involved. You'll see your loved one, get to spend some valuable time with them and gather more evidence of an ongoing marriage through pictures, maybe an opened joint account in your SO's bank, time to get signatures on your insurance, retirement accounts, ect. for beneficiary things, put her/him on your insurances, ect. It'll give NVC and possibly USCIS (if rfe is sent) great folder fillers. All around win-win if it's possible. If not, your SO may have a bit tougher sell and more nerves going into the interview portion. Best of luck!!!

Hopefully I can get atleat a two weeks off from my job. I think more pictures will help us also. The more evidence the better. I hope they review the phone bill I ran up for 500.00 talking to my husband unknowinly to the fact that we didn't have a long distance phone plan on our home line!

I mean a job is just a job and I'm a big saver so if I have to sacrifice my job for my husband I guess that's what Im going to have to do. I trust and put everything in God's hands that it'll all work out the way it's supposed to.

May not be necessary to quit the job. Ask for a FMLA time off if the company is big enough, or maybe just have a heart to heart with the boss or owner, may be surprised in the result if you are a good, hard worker. They likely won't want to be rid of you. Also a week can make a lifetime....doesn't have to be two full weeks either...a weekend or long holiday weekend may be enough time and there are always specials on the East Coast to your SO's country.
