Extremism and murder are expressly prohibited in the Quran. To be Muslim, one must be moderate in word and deed. Islam is not meant to be based in blind following or cultural traditions, but is meant for all times and places. What the Saudi government condones as Islam is not the Islam of the Holy Quran. In fact, they print a Quran with their interpretations embedded in the verses, as if God's Word was synonymous with their Salafism. The house of Saud is one of the worst things to happen to Islam, IMO, beginning with naming the land of the Prophet (pbuh) after a self-appointed King.

Aren't you one of the Muslims on VJ who thinks that a person's religious beliefs should be weighed in light of the times they are living in and practiced accordingly?

I could be wrong but don't I remember you saying things along the lines of any religion killing in the name of their God(s) is unacceptable?
