Another point:

All profits from the sale of any car do not go totally and directly back to the manufacturer. The dealer has a good profit, wages and commissions are paid and help the economy and unless it is owned by the manufacturer and is an econmoic island in the middle of America there is a good amount of US economic activity from the sale of that car, be it foreign or domestic. Not to mention profit from dealer servicing or even the US profit the local Jiffy Lube will make everytime that car gets it's oil changed.
