I read the FAQ and the general PDF pamphlet that's on the USCIS website and I can't seem to confirm/find out the earliest possible date I can apply for U.S Citizenship/Naturalization. I see the 5 year requirement and am familiar with it - but many folks have told me something about applying 90 days early or some other method.

I have been a resident since 04/10/2007 (As listed on the Permanent Resident card). I am not married (single) and have been in the United States since 01/29/2001 (Approximately 10 years).

1.) When is the earliest I can become naturalized?

2.) Is there more than one method (other than N400)?

3.) As a side note, I have about 6 speeding tickets within the past year, (but no criminal record etc.) would this by any chance affect naturalization eligibility?

Thanks for the help!

1. Earliest date for naturalisation/ oath ceremony is 4/10/1012. USCIS recognises it takes a while to get the paperwork processed and do the interview, so you may apply 90 days before that date- 1/11/1012.

2. No.

3. Probably not, as long as no drugs/ alcohol is involved and you paid them.

@ second stage: Not marriage...I moved here with my whole family in 2001 on what I believe was a "F1" visitation/travel visa---then we extended the visit multiple times and [my parents] eventually filed some stuff (no clue to be honest) with some lawyer and we got permanent residence. (I THINK my mom got sponsored by her boss at work or something)

@Penguin: Sorry! big thanks to you as well!
