You are going to want MORE than a 2 hour lay-over in NY. You need to plan for Immigration and customs checks. I would be safe and plan something like 4a hours...to be on the safe side.....you wouldn't want to miss your connection because of Immigration and customs hold-ups.

I would agree - you will need more than 2 hours. You will have to go through immigration and pick up your luggage, go through customs and most likely go to a different terminal which all takes time. I think 4 hours will be a minimum neccesary. Usually flights board 30-45 minutes before take-off as well so you might be cutting it close with 4 hours. My husband was in immigration for almost an hour when he came, luckily he was staying the night in NYC with his brother. Just a suggestion for you. You could also check and see if this airline has another flight into MSP later - you can book the earlier flight (2 hours) and if you should miss it they will generally re-book you on the later flight (given there are seats available).

Good luck jameswhitey... and yes, please allow enough time to go thru immigration & customs - hate to see you miss your next flight bcuz of it! better to sit for awhile cuz if you miss your flight, you might be sitting much longer!
