They do say that timing is everything—via a press release sent out today by House Republicans:

House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers today introduced a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government at current rates for three weeks –until April 8 – while cutting $6 billion in spending. [...] -$99 million – NOAA – Operations, Research, and Facilities

-$18 million – NOAA – Procurement Acquisition and Construction

Yeah, that NOAA. The ones tasked with monitoring and warning Americans about natural disasters ... like tsunamis.

Maybe they could have Bobby Jindal go on T.V. and explain why.

I got a chuckle out of this comment on that dKos thread:

I have no idea if he did that today or not, but he has been a proponent of nukular energy as part of an overall alt energy strategy for a while now.

So I don't have to save something to my desktop, and then spend a few minutes uploading it to photobucket in order to post an image on VJ? I can cut out the middle man using imgur? Cool site.

You can even use the imgur add-on for Firefox. I right-click an image I want, select the quick upload option under imgur. And boom, it gets uploaded.

Although in this case I used Snag It to take an image of a piece of a page first. That image got saved on my desktop and then I uploaded that to imgur.

Only if he is proposing powerstations near a fault line.

It passed. Seems like the timing was good. I doubt any of them even read or understood what they are cutting.

I just right click on photos and click copy. All that other stuff seems like too much effort.

We are talking about files on a desktop (usually screenshots). Previously I would have to save the screenshot onto my desktop, then go to an image uploading site like photobucket to upload the image. Sign in then find the album I want to store the file in. Then upload. Plus photobucket has lots of loading screens. The whole process can take a good 2-3 minutes. But with the site above all you do is save the screenshot, go to that site and you can immediately get the image code...It only takes about 20 seconds.

For comparison take a screenshot of the ad at the top of the page and try it both ways. You will shave at least 60 seconds off of your day. Imagine all the productive things you can do in that 60 seconds. Like, maybe make another comment on VJ, login to facebook, or check an email. The possibilities are endless.
