Why so long for NOA1?

We sent our I-751 package to the California Service Center on February 18, 2011. Today it has been three weeks, and still no sign of the NOA1.

Has anyone else waited this long?

Thanks,

Melanie

Our lawyer sent in the packet for us, so I don't know about the check that they sent with it. (The law office cashed our check into their special account, they write checks for government fees from that account, so I have no access to the details.) We called her and she said "Don't worry, sometimes it just takes longer". I would assume that they sent the packet registered mail so there would be some proof that the packet arrived?

If it's not in the mail tomorrow, I'll call the lawyer's office. I was just wondering what other people's experiences were, and if anyone else has had such a long wait time.

Seems like CSC is much quicker than VSC (these are March filers - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/297555-march-2011-filers/) I would call your lawyers office to confirm the date they sent it out...

Got confirmation from our lawyer that USCIS cashed the check on March 9th, which is 19 days after the package was sent. I'm glad to have conirmation that the package is there, and I suppose we'll get the NOA1 soon. But wow! Why so long to cash the check?

*thanking my lucky stars for this good news!*

We sent our packet in January and still haven't had confirmation, and kept being told to wait wait wait. It's really frustrating, and we're planning on sending in another packet with a cheque instead of a money order this time so that we can at least prove to ourselves that they at least HAVE the darn thing... We're also using the California service center.

We also sent our package on 02/28/2011. It was delivered 03/04/2011. No check cashed yet, nothing, but we did not get the package back either (yet). It was already returned once (long story, stepparent adoption of the kids, they have US passport but they still wanted biometric fee). My husband's green card is expired, so this is not good. We just have to wait. Hopefully Vermont is picking up some speed.
