I agree with danik713, it is very selfish of you to use the tragedy as an excuse to "expedite" your proceedings. Shame on you! You even said it yourself, your fiancee is fine and her region wasn't even badly hit so there is no reason to request for an expedite! I hope you get delayed more!

That isn't what VJ is about...it's about supporting eachother in crisis and in good times....my husband is in karachi and u can imagine my concern when the transportation is in strike and he walks 45 min in the dark at night home by himself with who knows lurking aorund the corner...he was once held at gun point for his cell phone...and due to the situation right now its even more dangerous but i would never wish anybody delay intheir case...lets group together and not wish bad things upon eachother...this is a terrible tragedy for japan and all the members loved ones...i do wish speedy approvals for all of us...and pray that we all bring our loved ones here asap for various reasons.

Huh? That post and the one it was quoting was saying SHAME on the people wishing bad thoughts. I was being supportive of the people trying for the expedite because I would have done the same thing.

OK....I was upset someone thought I was wishing someone ill will. I feel so badly for everyone in Japan, and their loved ones who can't be with them to comfort and protect them.

I think many of us would have done the same and won't admit it. I know if my husband or finance were in Japan right now I would be worried to death....THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS GOING TO BE AFFECTED ADVERSELY!

Good luck to your expedite requests...I hope it happens for you!

For any nasty comments like "I hope you're delayed even longer" SHAME ON YOU!

Yes we do worry, and I was in a panic until I was sure he was ok. My USC fiancee is in Japan right now but is thankfully ok - although shaken up by the quake and subsequent aftershocks he is in the Yokosuka area south of the epicenter and everyone and everything there is ok, for now. Still it's very scary not knowing what is going to happen with the reactors and whether they will have to be evacuated.

I have a ticket to go see him March 26 and stay for 7 weeks... now who knows - it's hard being this far away. :crying: I can't imagine how awful it is for those with loved ones in the disaster area... my heart goes out to them all. (L)

you know what pisses me off?you or people like you who think you have the authority to decide whether or not one's loved one is worthy of an expedite.

as far as i can tell youre not from japan, you dont have any one in japan or any of the effect countries so you wouldnt know how extreme the situation is or can be.there is a nuclear catastrophe going on in japan and its putting their entire country in a horrible situation and YOU think his expedite should be frowned upon?how come USCIS expedited THE ENTIRE country of haiti's petitions when only specific regions were damaged?

DAMN the nerve of some people, you would have done the same thing if you were in his shoes, dont feel all high and mighty just because 10 people agreed with you

I don't have the authority - nor wish to - be the decision maker on expedites. I'll clarify on what you thought I said - I personally would think everyone's loved one is "worthy" of an expedite - but it is not the individual yet the circumstances which are the criteria.

My mother is stuck in Japan right now, thankfully she is safe. Her and I both would prefer emergency efforts be devoted to helping those who truly need it rather than getting her back to the States merely because she is an American citizen or the loved one of American citizens. I hope you have a better understanding now of where I am coming from. And no, I actually would not put in an expedite request, nor would my love expect me to.

with the second explosion, you cant HONESTLY say you think your mother is safe.your mother is a US citizen, its her right to get back to the states,if you dont feel its necessary for your mother to get away from a place with chances of earthquake and tsunami, thats a different story.you have zero right to say shame on op.if its an individual situation, keep your individual opinion to yourself because you dont know where exactly OP's loved one is or how he feels or what he thinks.
