Ok. For me, I don't click on the document link to open it in any browser. Example, this link to the form I-485 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485.pdf I just don't click the link. I right click the link and select Save Target As (IE) or Save Link As (Firefox, Chrome), or Save Linked Content As (Opera). I save it to my desktop and I go find it and then right click and scan the document with my Anti-Virus. After that I double click that saved PDF file on my desktop and the Adobe Reader will open it for me. I enter my information and then save it. I have a habit of scanning any downloaded documents with my AV all the time.

The problem wasn't in when the doc was saved. It was how Chrome was displaying the document. Ahh well if my mistake helps anyone else..its all good.

03/26/2012 (Day 376) Emails confirming that my I-130 and I-485 have been approved.

4/2/2012 Green Card In Hand!

Unbelievable that my journey took this long but Im thankful

Next Stop Premed...Yup!

3/24/2014 Application for conditions to be removed

9/22/2014 APPROVED without interview.

OMG! I submitted forms with no barcodes :(

They received my application forms on 10 March, still haven't heard from them.

Are barcodes really needed? Should I call them, resend new i-130, aos, i-864, i-765 or just wait for them to send me all my applications back?

03/08/2011 Sent I-130, I-485, I-765 to Chicago Lockbox (PO Box address) thru USPS Priority Mail

03/09/2011 Found out this Visa Journey Community

03/10/2011 Package received at 6:48am

03/15/2011 Called USCIS to inform them that all the forms I sent don't have barcodes on 'em, except for I-693, was told to wait for 30 days before we hear from them

04/05/2011 E-notifications received (texts and emails)

04/06/2011 Checks cashed

04/11/2011 Received NOA's for all 3 applications

04/15/2011 Received Biometrics Appointment Notice for I-485 and I-765 (scheduled for 05/09/2011)

04/15/2011 Successful Walk-in Biometrics (05/09/2011 is week of my birthday and we'll be out of town)

04/27/2011 E-notifications received(text and email) EAD Card production in order; Online status for I-765 updated 4/27/11

05/05/2011 Received EAD card

06/27/2011 Received GREEN CARD in the mail, it is indeed green!

I am waiting to see what they will do. I went to the drs yesterday and got them to redo my I-693 because that didnt have a barcode on. The other forms I think I did. Im not sure so I guess Ill find out soon enough.

I would redo your forms in the expectation that you will get them back (Thats what I did) so at least all you will have to do is switch the old for the new.

Please fill in your timelime and visa you are adjusting from. There is a March 2011 filers thread also that you may find helpful.

Thanks Myopia! I'm pretty new to Visa Journey, I wish I knew about this before I mailed out my applications. I made copies of all the forms I've submitted and only the i-864 has the barcode, and just half. I looked through my old drafts, you know, I printed out all the forms and instructions and filled up all the forms by hand when I just started to prepare the packet. My I-693 is ok, they gave me a copy and it shows it has a barcode in it. This has really been bothering me so I called earlier today. The person who I talked to was very nice, but she told me it's either they'll accept all my forms or they'll send them back to me. She said to call again if I don't hear from them in 30 days. <sigh>

Thanks for your help. I guess we'll just wait .

It's just one of those little things that you just don't even think about and I know I went over these forms so many times! Dont worry about it too much because it is what it is and there isnt much that either of us can do. Just prepare for the possibility that they will return the packet. Maybe put some more evidences in etc, if mine comes back I will put some affidavits in just as an addition to what I already have. Look on this as something positive or you will lose your mind!

the thing I hate about 'viewing in a browser' is that you've given over control to the browser, instead of the underlying application (acrobat reader, foxit, etc)

so

for anyone else thinking to do this -

please -

download the forms (usually a right click, save file as , when right clicking the form url ) straight to yer pooter,

open with Acrobat or Foxit, not use any browser.

Sure, browser is convenient, but - come on - don't hose yerself .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes they accepted my application but when I thought about it out of panic mode,my husband said that I was the one that told him that there was no barcodes so I may have redone them and happily for me they accepted my I-864 even with the mistake that I had.

I know Im going to get a RFE for the medical because that did not have a barcode on for sure but I got a new form from the doctors office so Im good
