OMG No barcode!

What a major mistake!

I sent in my AOS packet but the whole thing is about to be rejected because there were NO BARCODES on forms.

I used Google Chrome and for some reason none of the barcodes were shown. I didnt even notice it until I was browsing and saw that other filers had their entire packet rejected for the very same reason.

When I checked my copies I saw that none of my forms had the barcodes on them other than the I-130 and I-765,

Great. Just when I thought I had it in the bag. Nothing to change what is about to happen.

I just hope they send it back to me fast. In the meantime I will do redo the forms using FIREFOX browser that does print off the barcodes.

So make sure you check before you file!

Yep I did mine on Firefox, also another suggestion I had mine printed at officemax I notice when u use laser printer it prints the barcode much better and clear than one with inkjet is too close to each other, I wasn't so sure if it would make a difference but didn't want to take the chance on the application being rejected coz they cant read the barcode so to be safe I had it done at officemax I paid only like $2-$3 for the whole application

The barcodes are the black lines that are on the bottom of the forms. I had forms with no barcodes on the I-485, I-693 and G-325A.

I am going to just redo the forms. I already called the doctors office and told them and I will go there on Monday to get a new I-693 with the barcode this time.

A little part of me hopes that they have a rubber stamp that creates a bar code but based on my research that's not a possibility so I'm ready to re-send.

Goes to show that you can check and double check but something can always go amiss.

And I just noticed another glaring mistake.

Note to self. Dont send out forms when running a fever.

Oh, what a mess... I don;t recall those barcodes either, but it's definitely better to be prepared for the worst.

I made copies of my packet. The thing is I knew something was off when I was sending it. My husband mailed it for me as I was sick, and I kept hovering over him..usually I do that when somethings bothering me and this was it!

I'm not upset about it. It is what it is. I just hope I get the packet asap so that I can switch the bad for the good.

This is one thing had not even known about before you pointed it out.. Good to know for future forms we need to send out, since our journey with USCIS will be continuing for quite a few years.

well we didn't exactly printed anything off of a browser, all was downloaded and then opened in Adobe Acrobat Professional

our scanner/printer is an inkjet not a laser, so the quality wasn't that good but hey they should be able to scan those.

god we spent 60 dollars on the cartridges, just for the sake of having a photocopier and a printer at home. i thought it'd worth the money.

We did the same thing. Actually after speaking to my husband..Im not so sure what I did. He said that I was the one who mentioned that chrome wasnt printing the barcodes in the first place and seeing that I used printed copies, there is a chance that I did use the forms with the barcodes on. None the less there is a mistake on one of the forms so we shall see what happens.

This process has truly made me lose my mind.

Why use browser to open up the forms? Just save the forms as *.pdf and open the saved *.pdf forms using Adobe Reader. You won't have to worry about missing bar codes, etc.

For me when I clicked on the forms..The PDF opened in my browser window and I filled it in then saved.

In any event the saved forms didnt have the barcode on them,

The problem wasnt in my execution. It was in google chrome that for some wierd reason didnt show the barcodes from the USCIS website even when I did download.

Ok. For me, I don't click on the document link to open it in any browser. Example, this link to the form I-485 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485.pdf I just don't click the link. I right click the link and select Save Target As (IE) or Save Link As (Firefox, Chrome), or Save Linked Content As (Opera). I save it to my desktop and I go find it and then right click and scan the document with my Anti-Virus. After that I double click that saved PDF file on my desktop and the Adobe Reader will open it for me. I enter my information and then save it. I have a habit of scanning any downloaded documents with my AV all the time.
