Hi

Could someone please advise me how long a notarized letter is valid.

I have been given several different responses and I am now unsure.

Some advise indefinitely and others advise valid for one year

Your help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Angela

Are you talking about the I-134 notarized Affidavit of Support? I have heard various things, some people have said that their notarized form was 6 months old when it was used, yet some one did say that the Embassy prefer it to be "as new as possible" ( dated as close to the interview as possible). I am sending ours out this week, so it will be about a month old when the interview appt is.

As for an actual expiry on a notarized form, I have no idea.

Maybe contact a notary public in your area and ask.

Kinkos has Notaries on staff in some places!

Good Luck :D

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

It makes no difference when a document is signed in front of a Notary. The Notary is an officer that whitness your signing of the document and indicates that it was signed by the person doing the signing and that the signing was not under pressure or against the signer's will.

There is no time limit on how long a notarized signature is valid.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Hi

Thanks for your response - This is also what I thought but the London Embassy are telling me something else (helpline) I have sent a further e-mail to london consular clarify this with them

The letter I have is from my son's father and it was sent to me in July 2005. I would rather not ask for another letter if I can help it - more hassle than anything!!

Thanks again for your response

I'd guess the issue might be the date on the letter. It's been more than a year since your father's son signed - and not the notarization. As others said, it's better to have any document signed close to the interview date.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
