Ok so my case is a bit weird, I live in America already, I have been since I was 7 and My mum filed for me and was approved back in 1997. For some reason they never did the adjustment of status for me so I am just working on it now.

My documents was received Nov 22nd and i went for my biometrics February 2. On January 23 they sent me a notice requesting additional information W2 from my sponsors and proof or status for my sponsor. I sent those in March 1st and now my case is initial review.

Not sure what that means, when I track it the next step listed is decision, does anyone know what this means? Do I not get an interview? How long before the decision is made? I a super anxious!

Oh I did not get a work permit either because I did not file separately, my quack of a lawyer did not explain what that mean...please help

Initial Review means they have received ur petition and they r doing background checks since u have had ur bio appt it is possible that they will transfer ur case to csc (california service center) but not all cases r transferred. Also not everyone have an interview there is a 50% chance u will have an interview. There is nothing u do now after the bio appt it is about 4 -6 months wait until u receive the GC (green card). If u r planning to work you will need the EAD card (employment authorization document) welcome to vj and good luck!

You can still apply for an EAD based on your pending I-485 by attaching a copy of the NOA1. However, once you get your GC, you will no longer need an EAD, because the EAD is a temporary measure for people who will be soon be GC holders. The GC gives you the right to work by itself. Good luck.
