March 2011 AOS Filers

My wife and I filed for her AOS from F-1 on March 10th and still haven't heard anything. We overnighted the docs. from USPS and they were signed for March 11th. Any ideas on what is taking so long? Does it take longer if you file at the Chicago lockbox that only accepts mail from USPS? Thanks for any info.

we filed there too and they received on march 11 too and we haven't heard anything maybe they are receiving a lot of application

I received my biometrics letter yesterday

April 1 and am scheduled for my biometrics appt April 26.

Anybody else get a touch today? It's kind of strange because on March 24th, our case was tranferred to California and we got a letter in the mail saying it was for faster processing. But when I checked our status online it said last updated 4/4 today! And the message reads in March 24th we transferred your case to National Benefits Center... Hmm? Two transfers with the same date? But we called customer service and got transferred to a tier 2 agent who pulled up our file confirmed that it is still at CSC and that with it being updated today (being touched) there must have been a computer glitch that changed the wording to NBC. I'm just really praying it didn't get transferred back!

Nothing to worry, if you don't hear anything within 30 days then you can call them.

So, I sent our AOS package on March 28th, it was signed for on March 30th, and we haven't heard anything yet. The check hasn't even been cashed yet. Is that normal? I just remember when I did the initial petition for my wife a long time ago for her K3 visa, they cashed the check pretty much the same day it arrived. Anyway, not too nervous yet, but just wanted to see if that is normal for it to take a few days for the check to be cashed. Thanks!

They seem to be averaging about 10 days right now. Some have received notice faster, others have waited much longer. We received ours on 4/1 which was received at USCIS on 3/21, or after 11 days. I do know what you mean though. They cashed our K-1 petition check within 2 days so anything more than that had me wondering too. (Our check still doesn't post as cashed but I'm expecting it today since we received the text notification on Friday.)

we fill out the application our selves it was that and pay for my wife university or pay an attorney we research lot and we did it pretty good but we didn't fill out a G-1145 :'(

SAME HERE!We didnt fill out a G1145.But im thinking,once we get our case number we can sign up electronically online.

keep the faith! no check cashed or NOA1 yet but im hoping this week!

I have been trying to maintain a list of march filers so everyone in this thread can see were we stand.

The first group of members refers to those who have filed with their respective date of when the package was send and when it arrived.

The second group refers to members who have received and official "Notice of Action" (NOA) stating that their package has been received.

The third group refers to members who have received appointment letters for their finger prints (BioMetrics).

Each section has a different color with its corresponding date.

Hope that helps you to know how long immigration is taking. As you can see there is still a lot of us in the first group, in which we are still waiting for official notification.

Well, today while I was in my afternoon class, I got about 5 text messages, all saying the same thing - That our package had been received and that the physical NOA will arrive within about 7-10 days. I am assuming that the check will be cashed soon as well. I'm just glad to see that they received it and we can get this going. Thanks for the information everyone! I'll probably be a more frequent visitor in here now.
