Ok so we got here at about 9:30am for 10:15am appointment. Well we are still waiting to be called. It seems they are extremely backed up as there is quite a number of people before us that are still waiting also.

Waiting is not fun!

Hang in there. It'll be soon enough! (And I thought you'd been there for over 4 hours at your first update because I'm in the East. laughing.gif)

Good luck when you finally get in the office!good.gif

We had our interview in the New York City office yesterday. They told us we'd get an answer within 30 days, which was disconcerting since we were expecting to hear right away. Overall we had a favorable impression from the agent and he didn't ask to see ANY additional documentation. I came prepared with a hyper-organized binder full of evidence of our marriage, all our originals, photo albums, notarized letters from various people, etc. and the only thing the guy wanted to see were our passports. So, I guess that was encouraging that he wasn't suspicious. But, he also asked some tough questions that tripped my husband up - what model car I own (yes, most guys would know this, but my husband is a PhD student in philosophy and it's not his thing!), what kind of car insurance we have (he's on the policy, but he didn't know it was Geico) and what my obstetrician's name is. I think the agent was probably more concerned with our reactions to these things and our interactions with each other than with the precision of our responses, but it still made us nervous, especially when we didn't get an answer at the end.

Has anyone else had to wait 30 days for an answer?

I'm sure it'll be OK..

But this reminds me that I need to let my wife know what the various companies we use and other household items are. She's now on the policies but since they are mostly carry-overs from my single life, and in English, I've continued handling everything for the time being. I'm teaching her to drive now so at least she knows what our car is. She may not know what any other car in the USA is, but at least she knows what she's been trying to drive!good.gif I feel bad for her because the car is a 5-speed so she has to learn to drive a stick-shift and vehicle control all at the same time.

Hi to all, I'm done with biometrics last July 12, 2011 and received my EAD Card last July 20, 2011. What will I do now? Will I wait for our interview? Our case was transferred in CSC last May. Is it possible that we won't be interviewed anymore and get our green card right away? Please help. Thanks!

At this point, I'd be thrilled with a text update at any hour, day or night...

I know it was a typo on our (my) part but, the truth is, all of the supporting documents (I-94, I-797C Approval Notice for I-129F, etc..) contain the correct A# so I don't know why, if that is/was the problem, it wasn't seen before 4 months had passed - and, even then, we were the ones who finally saw it.

USCIS told my wife that she could send a correction letter directly to NBC (without waiting for an RFE because they aren't sure one will be issued) but I am a bit hesitant to do so because it may not get put with her case and/or, it could cause more confusion beyond the correction she requested verbally over the phone. Also, they weren't very clear on whether or not they wanted a new I-485 or just a correction to the original.

We have an InfoPASS scheduled for one week from today, so I guess we'll just have to wait until then unless we hear something within the next 7 days...

If your case was transferred to CSC, there is a very good chance you won't have an interview. Hopefully, they'll approve the GC now that the biometrics are done.

InfoPASS tomorrow morning.

I just re-printed the entire AOS package. Honestly, I know the I-485 had a one-digit typo in the A# but at least 5 of the supporting docs (I-129F, Photos(2x), I-94 Departure Record, the G-325A and the I-864) had the correct A#, so now I'm a bit worried it isn't about that. It's clear that it was a simple typo and really shouldn't have held anything up so long without some news (RFE, etc)....
