i have an INterview ...but he only asked me for my social security card I make a copy of it and told me that everything was approved I would receive a welcome letter and 30 days would receive my green card by mail

Well, we received the NOA1 4 months ago today. We are officially beyond the normal processing times for our local office without any indication of whether we'll have an interview or not. My wife called USCIS today to see what's going on. Hopefully, this will make them look for her file. I'm starting to think it was lost or misplaced somewhere between the Chicago Lockbox and NBC/local office. If there is going to be an interview, we're looking at over 5 months which seems a bit long for a case submitted without any errors (no RFEs).

Frankly, I'm tired of seeing "On March 21, 2011, we received this I485....." on the USCIS website....

After searching and searching and searching, it seems the mystery may be solved... There was a typo on the I-485 application (the A# was wrong by one digit - it was our fault). We called USCIS and gave them the correct A# and they put in a service request so, hopefully, within 30 days her real A# will be matched up with her biometrics and they can either send it to CSC or to our local office to have an interview scheduled. We had to write-in her A# on the bio letter, but it matched up with her I-765 within 24 hours, so I know they recorded that correctly. Either way, it looks like we're going to be waiting 2-3 months more.

The good thing is that you caught it.

Have you thought of going to your local immigration office and doing the correction in person?

I only suggest it because my husband had his name entered in the master list wrong. We called to get it fixed but that was not the case, until we went in person and fixed it in the entire system. The name problem was giving us problems with social security administration.

Hope everything starts moving faster now that you know the problem and it has been solved.

Sorry for the delay, Ryna!! Hopefully it won't be 2-3 months after all. We thought our RFE would set us back a month or two at least and it didn't seem to. So, you never know.

We're up tomorrow and I'm planning to wear my most baby-bump-revealing maternity clothes. I even got a note from my obgyn saying I'm pregnant and "to the best of his knowledge" the guy who has accompanied me to my appointments is my husband and father of the baby. If not, it would be a really extravagant attempt at visa fraud.
