Hi Sandra. I hope things move fast for you, too. Are you still going to try an early walk-in for the biometrics?

For your question... My wife's status, your status and the status of everyone else who is waiting for AOS is "Out-of-status, in a period of authorized stay" which means your I-94 has expired but you are legally allowed to stay in the US while waiting for a decision on your LPR (Green Card.)

We just got a notice in the mail today for my wife's interview on June 16th in Salt Lake City. We can definitely wait until the, but is it possible to do walk in appointments for the interviews like we could for biometrics? I'm guessing its not likely, but I thought I would ask anyway. Thanks

I have never heard of anyone doing a walk in for an interview, only for biometrics.

Oh, that status... All three (AOS/EAD/AP) are still on "Initial Review - On March 21, 2011, we received this...." They haven't changed since we received the text messages a month and a half ago. We're hoping to see some change soon now that biometrics are done.

OK... here is our update

Received NOA's for I-485, I-765, I-131... 4-15-11....1 month after they received our packet.

Received BIO Metrics letter for I-485, I765 on 4-28-11...with appointment on 05-24-11.

We did walk in for bio metrics on 05-11-11, and because we live in So California ..... they almost didn't want to let us in

so I made up a couple of story's and they did... Good thing we where early because 5 minutes after they gave us our number

about 20 people came in and they where packed.... So about 45 minutes in there and out.

So that's all good news..

Now the bad news....

The original check submitted with our packet did not get cashed....I had to close the bank acct. for reasons I can't say.

No problem.. I called Burlington Finance Center on 4-24-11 and they said there is a Invoice Number that will be dated 04-25-11 but has not

been printed yet but I can Pay on the phone ...GREAT...and I do.... they moneys were drawn on my acct 04-27-11..

Well USDHS never received the payment notice and yesterday 5-13-11( Happy Fri. the 13th) we get a letter dated 5-09-11 saying our case is closed for non payment of fees. I call customer srvc. and no I have to get copys of the invoice,cancelation letter reciet number and mail to them....

so the nightmare of trying to fix all this is just beginning.

Allright, major update folks. Received my "Request for applicant to appear for initial interview" notice yesterday in the mail. Also, at 5 AM this morning, I received two emails saying my EAD and AP were approved. Notices were mailed out on May 5th and May 11th respectively. I don't know why they didn't update me via text/email on those days. The online tracking system shows "touches" on EAD and AP on May 14th. They have people working at 5 AM??? I think yesterday's emails may have something to do with me contacting my senator with a request to help with my AP expedite. Her office contacted USCIS yesterday. Oh the bureaucracy!

correction: AP notice mailed out on May 5th, EAD notice mailed out on May 11th. Haven't gotten either in the mail. Phew.
