I discovered the problem - they no longer accept original hand-written birth certificates from Jamaica, even if they're certified - we have to apply for one through the Jamaican Register General... God knows how long that will take!

On the bright side, we got a biometrics appointment for May 2nd.

Just look at the list I Have going. The second group with blue dates, are the dates in which one received the official NOA1 The third group with pink dates are biometrics appointment dates. NOTE:

My wife received something from USCIS today (and I can see that her name is spelled in full and correctly :thumbs:.) She's in class right now, so I don't know what it is. The case hasn't been touched online and we haven't received any other texts/emails, so I'm hoping it's the Biometrics appointment letter.

N-400

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

Once he as the handwritten original with all the information needed it doesnt take more than a week to get to him in jamaica, depending on the service you pay for, however if you wish to have it sent directly to the US that takes longer. i would suggest that you do the 3 day express service in jamaica then FedEx is up you will have it in hand in less than 7 days and at a fraction of the cost.

3/09/2011: filed I-485 + EAD

3/11: Delivered Chicago Lockbox

3/15: text and email confirmation/Check Cashed/NOA1 sent

3/16: touched

3/18: rec hardcopy NOA1

3/21: rec biometrics appointment for 4/08 planning walk in for 3/23

3/22: successful walk in biometrics exactly 3 months since POE

5/14: touched/text & email notice of EAD approval

5/16: EAD in hand

7/1: Text/email notice for interview

8/3: Interview.............Approved!!!!

8/13: Green Card in hand

Just and update to our status. We got the letter for the biometrics on Friday for May 10. We went ahead and did a walkin today in Norfolk and had no problems. Nice as could be and had us out in less than 45 minutes. So all is done for us now on that. Just wondering if anyone has any idea how long to expect for the final interview for us both. Just nice to see the whole process finally coming to and end and a green card in sight.

Received the Biometrics letter today. Appointment on May 12th. We may try an early walk-in.

My husband has his biometrics appointment tomorrow, I can't wait. Just one more step to check off in the process.

During the biometrics appointment, can we verify that all his information is correct? I know they spelled his name wrong from POE and we fixed that but at this point we don't want any more mishaps.

You can fix spelling errors during biometrics.. they let me do it :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

We receive the receipt of notice for i130-i765 and i485 on the 13 exactly a month after

Now we have to keep waiting lol

3/12/2011 we sent aos package

3/14/2011 package delivered

4/15/11 received noa1 aos,aed & por

4/23/11 received Biometrics appt for 5/11

4/28/11 successful walk in Biometrics

5/13/11 EAD arrive

5/16/11 APPLY FOR SSN

5/18/11 GOT PRINTOUT OF SSN

5/19/11 GOT MY FL DL WIFE IS SUPER HAPPY SHE DOESNT HAVE TO DRIVE ANYMORE.

Does anyone know if they send a notice when the AOS papers have been transfered from the NBC to a local USCIS office or do they only send notice when it goes to CSC?

No notice for us, we just got the bio appt. I honestly don't know whether to want it to be transferred or not..

Thanks for the kind words. It seems the Norfolk office was very slow when we went, not really sure if they let people just walk in all the time. It may have just been timing. I hope things go better for you on the next try, it is nice to get it done and out of the way so you can start worrying about the interview...... :)
