We also got that text yesterday. It means that California just received our cases. Also- biometrics is done. Super easy and painless. So now we just wait. :)

Yeah, we were about 15 minutes early and Kurt got called up before he could even finish filling out the height/weight etc part of the form. We were out of there before our 10am appointment slot.

And yeah, I was chit chatting with the reception guy and since this falls under DHS, it's essential government function, and will remain open....

Hey I have a couple of questions for you guys.

How long after getting the text/email confirmation did they cash your check?

How soon after NOA1 did you get the notice for biometrics?

thanks!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

Just look at the list I Have going.

The second group with blue dates, are the dates in which one received the official NOA1

The third group with pink dates are biometrics appointment dates.

NOTE: Some have decided to do a walk-in before actual appointment date - But you still need an appointment letter to do a walk-in.

We got our text/emails yesterday but as of now the check hasn't been cashed so I was just wondering :)

And thats a helpful list! Are the dates in pink their dates for biometrics or is it when they received a notice for it?

Hi guys! I am one of the March AOS filers, I entered the US as a K-1 visa holder and got married within the 90 days stay. My package (including Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance) was received on monday 21. A week later, while I was revising the whole application I relised we made an error on the pay to check; we put USCIS instead of USDHS (not in initials). I then sent an email to Locbox Support asking them if this will affect the petition, the reply reads "THE PAYEE LINE ON YOUR CHECK WILL NOT BE GROUNDS FOR REJECTION" meaning that it was accepted though. Now its been three weeks and still no news but worries on my part. Is such a wit time normal or is it the particularity of this month??

I think their response was solely based on your question, and not that they officially opened your AOS packet for processing.

I am glad they actually responded to your email question though, since I am sure they receive a lot emails with inquiries.

Our check was dated incorrectly (2010 instead of 2011, oops!) and they sent us back the entire packet with a letter that said "fix this and send it back in". Not sure that they will do the same with the payee!?!??!

Tick tock, tick tock.

The curse of being a "data junkie" is that I've done some statistics on the posted timelines. Days from CSC transfer seems to be the meaningful thing to count... Going back rougly six months, transferred cases with no RFE are approved in 36 +-15 days, with some reported times as short as 17 (one case) or 19 (three cases) days. More recent trends show an average more like 26.

Now that biometrics are done, and we got the text confirming processing, and knowing some other folks were approved in this amount of time makes it reallllly reallly hard not to get a bit preoccupied with hoping and waiting for the notification!!!

Omg I am right there with you!! I am hoping and praying ours is approved soon. Even though it has only been a month since filing. Hope that we are as lucky as those who had theirs approved so quickly by CSC.

Thank you guys! well the purpose of the e-mail was just to clear the doubt on the error we made since it was a general question. Has anyone here waited that long (three weeks) before hearing something from the USCIS??
