Hi All

I received my NOA2 on 02/17/11 and this was forwarded to NVC on 02/28/11,i have contacted them to find out if it has left NVC and forwared to the consulate but i am informed that my case is in additional processing!!!

has anyone been through this before? i thought once u get the NOA2 then it has been approved, i didnt realise there would be another hurdle to get through.

Does this mean that this additional processing could take months?

PLEASEEEEEE HELP AS GETTING WORRIED NOW

10/10/2010-------NOA1 and sent to California Service Center for processing

10/19/2010-------Check Cashed

10/21/2010-------NOA1 Hardcopy received

11/26/2010-------Touched

02/17/2011-------NOA2 email received from USCIS confirming approval

02/28/2011-------NVC Received

03/15/2011-------Left NVC forwarded to US consulate in UK after 15 days of AP

03/21/2011-------US Consulate receive paper work and logged

03/22/2011-------Packet 3 sent by US consulate

03/24/2011-------Packet 3 received from US Consulate

03/24/2011-------Packet 3 returned to Consulate

04/01/2011-------Packet 3 logged by Consulate

03/29/2011-------Medical booked

04/04/2011-------Packet 4 sent

04/09/2011 -------Packet 4 received

04/20/2011-------Interview APPROVED!!! :) 181 days from filing.

06/10/2011-------POE Chicago flight from LHR

06/14/2011------- Applied for SSN#

06/24/2011 ------ Married in court prior to church wedding

06/30/2011------- filed AOS/EAD/AP

07/12/2011------- Received SSN#

Additional processing at NVC typically takes about 2 weeks. You can read more about it here. It's a long thread, so skip closer to the end to read peoples' experiences with additional processing over the past year. It's certainly another hurdle, but a quick one.

I've been stuck there for the past week, waiting for whatever processing needs to be completed. It also sucks because it took 9 days for NVC to actually receive our case from USCIS. I've heard folks say that after NOA2, things move very quickly. Well, I beg to differ.

Well whilst its in additional processing, can I still book my medical as I have my Lnd number or do I wait till I am notified by my consulate that they have received it?

I'm just hoping this additional processing will not take montths as my noa2 expires in june!
