Creeps you out! Wow you need your own talk show with that one. Don't turn my post into your version of negativity. That is what's wrong with the world too ultra sensitive.

Yes, it creeps me out. I find it disparaging to the very women you love. It's disrespectful. What actually creeps me out is the inability to comprehend why. And no matter how many times this is brought up, no matter how succinctly you put it, no matter how many times one can repeat oneself in explaining why, it will always be met with things like :

Maybe she's just jealous because we speak so highly of our filipinas.

Tell me why you think I'm jealous. Come on then, enlighten everyone.

I married her for her broken English. It's just adorable. And how she irons my shirts, and how she always has a hot cooked meal for me, even when I come home drunk at 2am. And that she's like a little sports car, revving and ready for me to take her for a ride, even if she's been slaving over the hot stove all day. All the hype about these Filipinas is TRUE! She even thinks my rolls of fat and baldness make me look guapo. It was money well spent!

Greatness.................

You Filipinas sure do. You are all these little sex kittens just waiting to pounce...hahaha. It's like having your own in-home gym. I don't know where you get all that energy.

Who people choose for their spouse if a pretty personal thing and it is certainly everyone's choice. I would hope that the people in the Philippines forum do not receive the unnecessary visits from people who will judge you and decide that your reasons for choosing your spouse are not to their liking and therefore not acceptable.

I do not usually read the Philippne forum because the topics probably do not concern me. But we have recently had lots of members from other forums coming to the Russia/Ukraine/Belarus forum to scold us for our choices in life.

Unfortunately these members seem attracted to any topic which alludes to praising your spouse or her cultural beliefs.

Good luck to all VJ members on their journey.

This guy should be a VJ moderator

Very level headed, and spoken with class

You should recommend him on Site Discussions. Captain Ewok is looking for adds to the mod staff and I am sure he would love to hear your recommendation.

You speak English rather well. So well, in fact, that I am surprised you don't understand all the subtleties of the language. But, carry on.

If you are offended, then why? Do you think everyone should be treated with the same respect, or just a modicum of respect? Can one earn respect? Should some folks receive more respect than others?

Excuse ME if I miss the irony, but are the subtleties of the language at work below? I rest my case.

Only after they meet their American sisters, who will educate them.

As for your questions,I find "why" questions and "should" statements to be almost next to useless in navigating my life. The rest can better be answered by someone willing to write a dissertation on the topic (I don't).

My last post on this topic. Back to regular programming....

I'm with you...and in fact, I would feel very offended, dissed and minimized if my husband referred to me in this way.

I wonder, IF, these men would like to be referred to as "my American" by their spouses/finacess and I wonder how they'd feel about it.

My apologies if I offended in saying "my filipina" and "my pinay" in my post. This is an affectionate term that Annabelle actually started. She calls me always "her Kano" so it was natural to call her "my pinay" or more frequently "my sweet pinay". It was not intended to belittle or minimize the formidable Filipino woman who I have the deepest respect for. Not only Annabelle, but the many pinay I have met in my travels with my future wife.

In fact, the intent of my original post was to illustrate to the original poster that it is not fair to group all filipinas into one blanket statement because like everywhere else, each is an individual and unique.

I married Anna because I thought it would be fun to be the target of disapproving stares as we walked the mall hand-in-hand, our body language conveying the subtle hints at our intimate relationship and the gawkers assuming that she is far short her 25 years of age yet shares carnal knowledge with a man who is obviously a few years past 30!

Of course if you believe any of that then I have a bridge you really should purchase from me...

I've repeated our story a few times on VJ so all I'll say here is that you can't see any of the reasons I married her in her photos. You have to get to know her to understand why we love each other so much.

You can't say "she's the one" not until you bring your sweet pinay in the US, until both of y'all completely can say that things have worked out after she moved , adjusted and actually have gotten comfortable and learned with the way "YOU" (the USC) lives, this is only the time that marriage might work after several years of getting to fully know each other.

Yes, you can say she is sweet as a honey while you are dating, and actually marry but sometimes unforeseeable circumstances that adjustment in US seems to be a an uphill climb, then lonesomeness takes over, then the idea of wanting to come home arises., then a sour divorce unfolds.

You might admit it or not, there always certain qualities that we all tend to hide in the "courting" stage, because we want to look perfect to the person we also love, but once we are all signed up in that marriage contract, these tiny little flaws shows.

In other words, "she's the one" is mainly a confirmation of what you have felt since the day you realized " you can spend the rest of your life" with this girl. Not unless you live with her, and see how she has lived and has become a wife to you, then you can only say that she is the right one.

I can say that my wife is the one for me, because she knows exactly what I don't want to eat now, and we can watch football all day long and I can converse with her anything and everything under the sun.

She is my best friend, and my strength when I don't have any.

She's the one!

You are awesome. :star: Our points are the same!

I think intent has a lot to do with it, and yours is quite sweet.

Why is always the girl coming to USA. It's a much better deal for the USC especially a Man to go to Philippines and live. It's a man's world over there.

Woman work and men hang out and drink and chill out. Divorce is Illegal, A man can have as many girlfriends as he wants in Philippines and can get as many girls pregnant he wants since there is no such thing as child support.

Being a Man in Philippines is the way to go, the Man Run the Show over there, and the woman obeys his rules..........
