Check out the RUB forum. At least the Pinay get some respect.

"Some respect?"

I believe it's either you respect someone or you don't. Going by the "dog breed" analogy used elsewhere in this thread, respect is not like dinner table scraps you dispense at your leisure, it's giving someone --- whether Filipina, American or Martian --- a full seat at that table.

You speak English rather well. So well, in fact, that I am surprised you don't understand all the subtleties of the language. But, carry on.

If you are offended, then why? Do you think everyone should be treated with the same respect, or just a modicum of respect? Can one earn respect? Should some folks receive more respect than others?

Your baiting skills are weak.

Who people choose for their spouse if a pretty personal thing and it is certainly everyone's choice. I would hope that the people in the Philippines forum do not receive the unnecessary visits from people who will judge you and decide that your reasons for choosing your spouse are not to their liking and therefore not acceptable.

I do not usually read the Philippne forum because the topics probably do not concern me. But we have recently had lots of members from other forums coming to the Russia/Ukraine/Belarus forum to scold us for our choices in life.

Unfortunately these members seem attracted to any topic which alludes to praising your spouse or her cultural beliefs.

Good luck to all VJ members on their journey.

True. They are only scolding them for not choosing a wife a little closer to their age, education, and income.

ETA: Or not to be sexist, not choosing a husband similarly matured.

I married her for her broken English. It's just adorable. And how she irons my shirts, and how she always has a hot cooked meal for me, even when I come home drunk at 2am. And that she's like a little sports car, revving and ready for me to take her for a ride, even if she's been slaving over the hot stove all day. All the hype about these Filipinas is TRUE! She even thinks my rolls of fat and baldness make me look guapo. It was money well spent!

It was money well spent--did u buy yr bride ???? :bonk: How much did u spend ??

Hi There Everyone

Thom - My Rina is 5'0" and I am 6'2" so I can relate to the height difference. It would not matter what the height difference would be she is a great woman and I love her for all her traits. Unlike most I was able lucky to spend every other month with her while I was working in Korea. The only regret I have is not going in her place of work 6 month sooner as we were both there already. I was not looking for anything I was just there to work and go home. I like her beauty of course, but it is her attitude on life. Her devotion to her family and now ours, she places our family first above all. She is happy with what we have and takes great care of it. Yes she folds the clothes I just took off if I do not do so, but I am learning if it matters to her it matters to me. She does not stress out at the slightest change or problem that comes up. She will discuss everything with me and always supports my decisions and views as her own and I try and do the same for her. If she has an opinion she will speak it not scream it. We just past the two year mark back in November and the relationship seems to be the same as the first week. She has talked to my mom and my dad and this has calmed her fears of being accepted once she gets to Dallas. She chats with my sisters on facebook and text messages a lot. They love her almost as much as I do.

I keep telling her I am sorry I can not make things better for her in Iligan than we have already and she tells me each time she is happy with what we have done and she understands we have to dig out from the mess my x put me in. We will get there together and we will love forever. It is amazing how far she can make the money I send make it but I try to send what I can and she knows it.

My job has me gone a lot and around the world for weeks at a time and I have never heard a jealous comment or suggestion. This is way different than before with my American x. This is a big plus as well for jealousy never really goes away once the seed or thought is there.

I am playing the waiting game now trying to get through the USCIS process currently awaiting NOA2.

I hope we are together in Dallas by the summer.

Good Luck one and All.

Mike

I found the term 'the Filipina' cringeworthy because of the 'the'. Speaking about a whole race of females' homogenous, interchangeable characteristics just creeps me out

Creeps you out! Wow you need your own talk show with that one. Don't turn my post into your version of negativity. That is what's wrong with the world too ultra sensitive.
