UW-Milwaukee SDS Occupy Building in Solidarity

Students at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee including members of Milwaukee SDS have occupied a building on campus, saying “We stand in solidarity with the workers and students striking and occupying the Wisconsin State Capitol building. We demand immunity for all occupiers and strikers involved in these actions."

There are attempts to resurrect the organization.

I support the unions and their defense of the middle class in America. I think these teachers and their supporters have behaved well considering the circumstances. I only wish my situation allowed me the time to join them in solidarity against this union-busting attempt by the GOP.

We should be trying to differentiate what most unions are trying to do and what some people have unfortunately suffered at the hands of some unscrupulous unions much like many employees have suffered at the hands of some unscrupulous employers.

Some people will try to generalize based on personal experience and that which is spoon-fed to them. No offense to those that have been real victims of union violence.
