Bringing Mother, not Father, need Marriage cert?

My husband received his citizenship in 2009, and we are petitioning for a green card for his mother. We are not ready to petition for his father. His mother did not change her name when they were married, and still has her maiden name.

Will a marriage certificate for his parents be necessary since there is no name change to prove for her, and we do not intend to apply for his father right now, if ever?

I want to have everything available ahead of time to prepare our packets and be ready. We used James's shortcuts for my husband's visa, which went quite well, and plan to take the same route this time.

Your help is appreciated, everyone! It's been a longggggg time :)

You will still need their marriage certificate. You have to provide that with the ds-230 , along with a bunch of other documents.
