Letter detailing relationship for I-130

Hello fellow VJ'ers!

Here I go obsessing over my I-130 packet which I'm dying to mail out. I do have a question on "letter detailing our relationship." (notcover letter of I-130 packet).

How many pages was your letter? How in-depth did you get describing how you met, etc?

hi there. just make it simple and clear, -where, when and how and how long since and what has transpired since. if it's just half a page (like ours) but it explains thoroughly enough then that's all you need.

Oh boy...I'm at 3 pages so far.

Our letter was about three quarters of a page. I've known my husband for 7 years now.

Like Zen Den, we focused on the important information- circumstances of our meeting, when we decided to start pursuing an exclusive relationship (we also addressed the almost 4-year gap between this and our first in-person meeting), how (and how often) we've stayed in touch over the years, when we first met in person, how he came to propose, wedding (we only had a small civil ceremony so we wrote about our plans to hold a traditional Chinese wedding dinner in the future), and then threw in just a little bit about how excited and happy our families and friends are for us.

Don't think they want or need a really long sappy letter, so mostly we stuck to the facts.

but something for PI ? really? usually these letters are useful to cover / go over any red flag issues, supply additional evidence to vette/rebut any red flag issues ...

you really wish to make such a letter, for a petition headed over to the PI ? whats up ?

Our attorney had us do a simple one page letter stating how we met, how we got engaged, how we got married and a couple of goals that we share in life, such as retiring to Roatan, Honduras, one day.

For us it was a simple outline of facts. When we met, how we stay in touch etc. We used it more as a timeline to give them an idea of our relationship, rather than why/how much we love each other etc.

Oops... I did not add a letter stating how my husband and I met or how we got engaged or even how we keep our relationship going. I hope this doesn't hurt our chances. Hopefully it is something we can add or talk about at the interview

I didn't include any of these documents to USCIS.. I have copies of skype, invoices, email etc..

I always thought it was the consulate that wanted proof of relationship.. I don't recall the

I-130 asking for this.. Proof of marriage yes they ask for several items, but nothing about how we met etc....But... I sent my I-130 before I knew of this forum..
