hello,im British,my partner is a u.s. citizen..last year i visited 3 times on the VWP.the first time staying for 10 days, second for a month..the third time in october when i arrived at border control my passport was stamped for 6 months instead of the normal 90 days.i stayed for 4 months and arrived back at the end of feb this year..my concern is i overstayed and will not be allowed back in the u.s. on a vwp..did the border control agent make a mistake stamping my passport for 6 months? how soon can i travel again as i spent nearly 6 months from last april to this feb in the u.s. in total? what can i expect from border control even if i am allowed a VW? Could i still be denied access? i have strong ties here of 3 children of school age living here in england.i have no plans to migrate, only to visit for now.please help..

Oh dear. That is definitely an overstay. You knew that the officer had made an error but you chose to violate the terms anyway. You may have lost your ability to travel on the VWP. The attached link will give you the CBP FAQ.

CBP FAQ - Visa Waiver Program

ok, i didnt k now the officer made a mistake,i just didnt question or take the time to find out if i was allowed to stay for 6 months..i accept fault..so now what do i do? all valid suggestions welcome..should i even bother going online to try to apply for a new Esta (it actually expired 3 days after i returned back to england) or would it not be advisable to do this as i will be denied anyway?? i need some advice,i cant rest..i have heard that applying for the fiance visa could be hindered because of my overstay of 30 days...

i do apologise for posting the same question, and i appreciate your first response, thankyou for your time..any advice as to where i go from here???
