Hi all, this is my first post so please excuse any mistakes.

I am 31 yrs old white male USC, I started talking to my (now) wife in nov 2010 and went to India last week (1st trip) for 6 days and we got married. She is divorced with a 5 year old daughter with sole custody and full rights. I also have 2 DWIs with mandatory jail time. 1st one 7 years ago and 2nd one 4 years ago. We are getting ready to file for CR1. I was warned to make a couple of trips before getting married but we did it anyway. Is it going to cause us any problem in the future? Also are my DWIs going to affect my eligibility to file for her and her daughter?

Your DWI's are not relevant. The only crimes that would cause a problem for a USC petitioner are ones that would fall under the Adam Walsh Act, which mostly involve harm or molestation to a minor. Multiple DWI's are relevant for someone filing for a K1, but not for a CR1.

Getting married on your first very brief trip may be a big hangup, in addition to having a relatively short relationship prior to the marriage. My understanding is that this is not the cultural norm in India. Someone with more experience with the consulates in India will have a better idea how serious a potential problem this might be.
