It's no secret that Republicans, and I don't mean the honorable Republicans of Abraham Lincoln's days, but today's Republicans, have only one objective: to grab as much power as possible and give it to the corporations who are about to take total control of this country.

It is also no secret that the democrats want to grab as much power and give it to the government. So what?

As for the rest, your tinfoil hat is ready.

Sure, why bother anymore? Just install a board of directors and a CEO and get rid of the three branches of government. ** elections and a representative system of government. Call it the UCA forthwith - the United Corporation of America. Just as long as the people do not have any say so whatsoever, you'd be a happy camper.

WI Senate GOP Leader Admits On-Air That His Goal Is To Defund Labor Unions, Hurt Obama's Reelection Chances

In an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly moments ago, State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI), one of Walker's closest allies in the legislature, confirmed the true political motive of Walker's anti-union push. Fitzgerald explained that "this battle" is about eliminating unions so that "the money is not there" for the labor movement. Specifically, he said that the destruction of unions will make it "much more difficult" for President Obama to win reelection in Wisconsin:

FITZGERALD: Well if they flip the state senate, which is obviously their goal with eight recalls going on right now, they can take control of the labor unions.
If we win this battle, and the money is not there under the auspices of the unions, certainly what you're going to find is President Obama is going to have a much difficult, much more difficult time getting elected and winning the state of Wisconsin.

Fitzgerald's transparent effort to defund his political opponents by stripping the rights of teachers and nurses is facing a backlash. In a few months, the defunders may be deposed. Following a
by ThinkProgress that several pro-Walker state lawmakers are eligible for recall, progressive activists around Wisconsin began filing the paperwork to remove eight GOP state senators from office.

So the cat is finally out of the bag: There's no more denying that the union busting measure had nothing to do with the budget shortfall. The Republicans - while claiming time and again that the budget requires this drastic measure - could not have made it any clearer that they were lying all along. And it's permanently on record.

It had nothing to do with SPENDING money and everything to do with saving money. If the Dems hadn't fled the state maybe they could have stood up for their union supporters. Wht is on the record is that Dems abandon those that vote for them.

Good for the legislature! Bully shot!

Of course it was the goal, and a good goal at that. Why should people that are paid by state tax dollars then have manditory dues taken out which all goes to elect democrats? In a very real sense the taxpayers are funding the democratic party. It is wrong and it is why public employees should not have unions. I really doubt if there is any backlash in WI. My guess is the people will vote to keep the GOP in power there.

Well it kind of is like that, both parties playing along. We are really foolish to be so polarized to not see who's really in charge, and it isn't a Donkey or an Elephant- its the almighty Dollar and those that control almost 100% of it. People that think they can be like one of them by working really, really, really hard have some waking up to do.

True. US Congress and State Capitols have been for sale for a long time now. And the disappearance of the once mighty middle class is but the first ugly result of that. UBRA it is, then. The United Banana Republic of America. Yay!
