Change of Address

So I moved out of my parents house shortly after I filed my K1 application, but I just called the hotline yesterday to change my address in USCIS's system. Now I am beginning to get a bit paranoid that this will delay my (already over 5 months) application, even though I asked the lady like 5 times if it would and she assured me it would not. However she also said they had up to 30 days to effect the address change in their system, which would put me over 6 months. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance from anyone else who might've changed their address mid-petition to see if their application was delayed or not.

I think she meant the change might not happen across the board instantly. With that in mind, your NOA2 might not make it to your new address. Luckily your parents will get the mail. It doesn't mean they stop everything until your address gets changed. The wheels keep turning and if your things get mailed to the wrong place, it's not their fault because they told you it could take 30 days.

I changed my address between NOA1 & 2 and it was updated quickly, and seemed to cause no problems. I changed mine on the USCIS website, I believe, not by phoning them. Best of luck!

We also changed both of our addresses near the end of November (see signature for where we were in the I129f process) with the USCIS, received written confirmation of changes, and haven't experienced any delays.

That being said, mail from the consulate in Montreal has my old address on it so I'm glad I've paid for forwarding services...
