Speeding ticket

Hi,

I have been very active on this site recently and I really appreciate everyone taking the time to answer my questions. A few years ago (I don't remember the exact year), I received a speeding ticket on the 401 in Ontario near Windsor for going 15km/hour over the speed limit of 100km/hr. One of the questions on form DS 160 asks if you have ever been arrested of convicted of any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty or other similar action. It is my understanding that I would have to list my speeding ticket, correct? Also, what should I bring to the interview to show that I have paid my ticket? I don't have a copy of the ticket anymore. Would a driving record work? Thanks!

My husband didn't have to fill out the DS160, we went through the process before they had instated it, but I know on other forms that he filled out that it said in the instructions that only drug/alcohol related traffic incidents or traffic incidents that resulted in arrest needed documentation. I'm assuming that it would be the same for the DS160. As far as I know, minor traffic violations aren't necessary to report. Hope someone else will chime in and verify for you.

Good Luck!

Robin

They really only care about arrests, which you were probably not for speeding. My fiance was naturalized last year and had a speeding ticket. It was not an issue. It never came up, they really don't care at all.
