which one gets approved faster?K1 or CR1?

I am wondering that both K1 and CR1 takes same time to get approved. Or CR1 gets approved faster than K1 because it is a spouse visa.

It's a crapshoot, no one answer is correct. Each case is different, each Service Center is different and each Case Office is different.

We did K-1 in 2007 and it took 9 months. Our CR-1 was screwed up by USCIS as well as 36,000 other filers, details in signature.

Statistically K1 is quicker. The reason for that, for a spousal visa you undergo a harder interview because you get a greencard on entry into the US. So you need to show proof of relationship to a greater degree than a fiancee visa.

A fiancee visa requires AOS after marriage. A GC is only given after further paperwork is file and further proof of relationship given.

A fiancee visa requires AOS after marriage. A GC is only given after further paperwork is file and further proof of relationship given.

I understand this logic I suppose but wouldn't it be easier to be more fraudulent with a fiancee visa considering you are a granted an entry to the us without a legal connection. As with a spouse someone had to fly a long distance (either way) and deal with being a foreigner marrying a citizen of another country etc like marrying not in your homeland is a task in itself. Idk if I agree with this. But you're not the rule maker so I'll stop badgering you lol.

the k-1 is faster but you will have to get AOS and more money for fees,...the cr1 is longer maybe about 2 months more than the k-1, but you get your social security card,and get your permanent resident card, to travel, and is less forms to file and cost less money

It is easier to arrive in the US fraudulently I suppose yes BUT the person who gets the K1 visa can ONLY adjust their status based on marriage to the person who sponsored their K1 visa. They can I suppose arrive and live under the radar but they're out of status and deportable. It has it's flaws but I personally preferred the idea of being apart from my fiance for 6 months to being apart from my new husband for 6-12 months.

The VISA fees are cheaper but the OP would have to get togther with their SO to get married, the extra flight would make the Cr-1 more expensive.
