DS 230 Questions

Okay, here are the first of many questions on the forms post NOA2.

1. In question 23 on the DS230, they ask about educational institutions. How far do you go back? All the way to grade 1? high school? just college or university? What did others do?

2. In question 25 on the DS230, they ask about previous visits or residence in the US. Hell, I have been to the US literally dozens and dozens of times on everything from week long vacations to day trips. I live close to the border and never dreamed I should keep track of that stuff. I have been over 7-8 times in the last 18 months - always as a visitor - never with a visa.

Any thoughts, kind folks?

Thanks,

Ed

I can't quite remember what i put for school, i think I just put high school that I graduated from but I am not quite sure.... I never went to college or anything but if you did you should put which ones, I think that is what they are wondering about anyways...

as for the visits, a lot of us Canadians have been to the United States more times then we can remember, I just put the times I went to see my SO and for the rest I just put that between such and such a time I have been to the United States various times or something like that....

Q23 I listed right back to when first started school in kindergarten (comparative to US 1st I think)

Q25 IMO just group them together by saying exactly what you just said. Someone else may be able to share what they put in that instance.

I could never list all the times I have been to the US, I lived about 40 minutes from the border so I went more times then I could possibly remember...

so I just listed the trips I could think of that were longer then a few days and then I listed the one trip I made to the United States to visit my SO then for all the rest I just put that I had been to the United States numerous times and I can't remember the exact dates, I am sure they realize because of CAnada's close proximity to the United STates that we might visit the US a lot.....

the thing is CAnada is so close to the United States that us Canadians tend to visit the States a lot, specially the ones taht live close to the border, ...... there was no possible way I could have listed all the trips I made to the United States so like I mentioned before just put your major trips to the United STates and for the rest just say that you have visited numerous times.....

This is how i answered q23. I just wrote down my bachelors degree, as Institution is mainly based on College degree. This is just for them to determine what kind of work you can perform ones you are in the US as an Immigrant.
