You mean "everybody loses", but yeah - that's what's coming in the years ahead.

Crippling taxes and zero growth.

And then some states will realize they can do much better on their own... and that'll be the end of the United States.

The tax rates now are the lowest they've been in the last 60+ years, so that claim holds no water.

Lets end the Bush Tax Cuts across the board. That would be a good starting point.

No sale, but keep trying. You might be able to sell quite a few down at the union hall.

I didn't stutter.

I can just rely more on my other line of business, Foreclosure signs and Bankruptcy packages for willing clients. Its all about choice and freedom.

If the entitlements are not addressed today, the income tax rates would have

to go up to 70-80 percent for most people to balance future budgets.

Income tax rates may be relatively low today, but let's not forget the

Social Security and Medicare taxes, state and local taxes, property taxes

and other taxes that people pay besides income.

Of which the majority of the population pay much more in comparison to their income vs a very, very small segment of the population that will never feel the pinch of those taxes in the first place.

We need to start another war somewhere on the other side of the globe. I'm sure that will boost our economy for sure.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Read the part that says 'Perhaps more importantly'...

Noooo!

Look at the 1917 rate jump on the marginal incomes! Noooooo!

The rich couldn't be rich if that were to happen. Never mind there have never been periods in US History where the rich stopped being rich, even with those 91% marginal rates.

I read somewhere in a book that the US actually used to have what is called a "middle class". Iv'e heard of it, now if I could only witness it. Oh well...there's nothing like fighting two wars abroad for big oil. Yay for Haliburton !

You must mean the part where more and more returns are being subjected to the higher rates.

If that is part of it, then why, is 1% of the nation's population earning more than 95% of the nation's income?

Besides, you are ONLY considering marginal tax rates, and you use a marginal tax argument against an across-the board tax argument, affecting more than just the rich that are currently receiving more breaks in proportion to their income, than the absolute majority of the nation.

It must be good for them. Since their profits are higher now than before those wars, it must mean they're hiring significantly, American workers.

We already pay 60% or so, if all taxes are taken into account, no?
