Form 156-K

Hi all,

I am not so sure what to send along with form 156-k of package 3. I was told by some vj(ers) that only the required forms should be mailed back to the embassy and the supporting documents should be brought on the day of the interview. However, it says on the form that "the following doc should be attached to this form in order to apply for the visa: birth certificate, financial support, police certicifate..."

I am ok with mailing the documents but what if it gets lost? Is it ok to mail copies? Sending the forms without the documents will not cause any delay?

Yes, I feel the same way - I have also been reassured that the embassy does not require originals to be mailed in, but maybe call your consulate (if possible) to check with them? I wouldn't send originals at all unless a live person at the consulate said your package would not be processed without them.

I'm thinking the checklist assures the consulate you have the originals ready to go, and they (plus a copy) are requested at the interview.

Thanks! I'll call the London embassy even though they charge all calls by the minute and you're guaranteed to be put on hold for atleast 10min...

I believe sending copies of everything is ok just make sure you have the originals at the interview with you!!!!! Good Luck
