HI, I am new to this site. I have been waiting 152 days for California to do something with our file. What do I do from here. How do you contact a Senator or House of Representative person to help you? By phone. Email just brings an auto response I have found. Is it possible to call the INS office and get a real person on the phone. I think when they transferred my file from Nebraska to California they messed something up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :help:

You never got anything from them a letter with a case number? Did you send the petition to them by certified mail with a return receipt card. The little green post card from the post office so that you have proof it arrived there. Also did you send a personal check so that you have a canceled check?

NOA1 can take up to 30 days, I have not heard of one taking this long. It sounds like your petition is lost.

Ok maybe I dont have the lingo down correctly. They received my file. Cashed my check and sent me the form asking me if I am a felon. I have a case number. So am I waiting for my NOA-2 then? And if so, Does it usually take this long for them to look at the thing?

Now that we have that cleared up yes the letter with case number is NOA1 and the item you filled out was the IMBRA RFE so you are now waiting for NOA2 or apruval.

There are quite a few waiting for CSC to move on their petitions this long. I have been seeing a lot of them getting their apruvals now. You might call the customer service number posted on the USCIS site, but you may not get any answer.

You may want to update your timeline to show the date on your NOA1, and about when you received and returned the RFE.

Thank you so much for clearing that up for me. I will update my timeline accordingly. Thanks for reassuring me that I am not alone in waiting this long. So your saying any day now? hehee

I waited almost that long so I do not think it is that uncommon I think you should contact them by email and phone and document the fact so that after say 30 more days ( when ever you are outside the average time wait for a NOA2 for your service center) You can contact your representitive and ask for help.

Good Luck
