I was thinking about going on a working holiday to New Zealand, while our K-1 is still in process, would this cause any problems with our K-1 process?

Any info or suggestions?

Thanks

I assume you (the person going on the working holiday) are the US citizen? It's fine to do that, but there are two potential issues:

- You need a mailing address in the USA with someone reliable to forward mail to you from USCIS, in case there is an RFE etc.

- What are you going to do for the Affidavit of Support? You will need a co-sponsor or sufficient assets, as you won't have a US job.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Are you the USC or the beneficiary? Some countries have residency requirements (you made another post about DCF where the same residency thing applies for the USC as well). You might need to apply in your home country (where is that?) and fly back from NZ to your home country for the police check, medical and interview. You would be better to go on a working holiday at the START of the process, rather than near the end and finish your working holiday sometimes after receiving NOA2.

If you're the USC technically you don't need to be in the US but you do need to earn money and have a US job... so... I don't know..
