An Army soldier died early Sunday morning and his friend was arrested after a game of Russian roulette. At about 2 a.m. Anchorage police were called to an Eagle River home, where a 26-year-old male had been shot in the abdomen.

Police are not releasing his name, but say he is originally from North Carolina and was taken to Providence Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He belonged to the 3rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

The soldier was at the home of his friend, 25-year-old Jacob Brouch, on the 11600 block of Dawn Street. Police say the weekend started with drinking, then turned to posing for photos with a revolver that belonged to Brouch, and ended with the deadly game.

I'm not sure I even want to know how much alcohol it takes to turn putting a [1/6 probability] loaded gun to your head and pulling the trigger into a "good" idea.

Was the gun arrested?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

It is moronic to trivialise guns or any weaponry for that matter, I find it very hard to believe that a person who is responsible handling guns would do that, seems like a very stupid thing to do to me.

Russian roulette makes no sense to me, another very stupid thing to do, but I am not sure how one would go about it without a gun. Not much of a "will it/won't it" with common objects you might find around the home.
