**There doesn't seem to be a POE specific forum, so I apologise if this is the wrong place to post**

On Thursday we fly out of Dublin airport on a direct flight to Orlando airport. Since Dublin has a US port of entry we know that we will initially enter through there, but for some silly reason they always make you go through immigration again in the first US airport you enter, which brings me to my query. When we go through immigration in Orlando will the wait be lessened for us since we already went through Dublin, or will we have to face horrendous lines and berating officers?

We are just wondering so that we know when to tell our lift to pick us up. :)

You clear immigration in Dublin and therefore do not have to go through again in Orlando. I believe you will be directed around and just have to go through customs.

Okay I guess I was remembering wrong then...it must have been just customs they made me go through when I landed in Boston last year. Will we be long going through customs since FI (the non-Usc) will be with me this time and we'll be moving country and therefore have a fair amount of things?

I think Dublin just completed their one terminal so it is a new change. They used to only do flights to Washington DC at Dublin, but now they do all of them I think. My husband says that customs as an immigrant is really no more difficult than just a vacation.

The US citizens committee has met and the reception you asked for has been arranged. Please be prepared for humiliation and degradation at multiple unmarked spots. There is a small hole in the MCO fence over near the Delta cargo building. However there are usually alligators in the drainage ditch. Best bet is bring some raw meat (they prefer chicken) with you on the plane to distract the hungry gators.

POE will be there in Dublin. Orlando will be just standard arrival procedures.

Dunno about Orlando, but my husband cleared immigration in Shannon and then flew to JFK. At least with JFK you just get your bags and walk out essentially. I think you have to hand in your customs declaration, but if you don't claim anything then it should be simple to just pass through. He had a rake of stuff and had no issues.
