Hi everyone, I have a few questions about the process if someone doesn't mind helping us out :).

Regarding the Affidavit of support, my fiancée is a college student and not working. I have some money that I can take with me, do they consider what I have or does the US citizen have to have the money? Her parents might co-sign if needed but that's not clear at the moment.

Also, what do I have to bring to the interview besides proof of relationship? And how long does the whole interview and medical process take?

Thanks,

P&M

if fiance or wife does not work she will need a co-sponsor it's not going to happen

with out one, unless she has assets that reaches the 125% poverty guideline.

best wishes :)

Thanks for the reply vett! That's what we were worried about. My assets exceed 125% of the poverty guideline, isn't that enough or does it have to be on her end?

Wrong.

If you are using assets, they must be worth 3 times the minimum income requirement.

I am also a college student but I have a job and we have a cosponsor just to be on the safe side...the money has to come from the US to show that your fiance is not going to become a pubic charge. The medical and interview processing times vary by country. Some things you would bring to the interview include passport pictures, proof of ongoing relationship, police certificate, birth certificate, I-134 forms (Financal forms), tax transcripts, non-impediment, among other things I know I must be forgeting some things  hope this helps
