Hello! Is anyone here going through the Juarez Consulate in Mexico for their K-1 Visa? My file has been there since Feb 18 and I am curious as to how long before they aknowledge sending Packet 3. I know we don't have to actually have it, just confirmation that it has been sent. Maybe we were a little over anxious, but we packed already!! Our case was expedited through USCIS and NVC, but dont know how to get it moving in Juarez. Thanks!

Hi. For CDJ, packet 3 is nothing more than a letter from them saying they have your file and that you have an open invitation to appear anytime except when they are closed - they list the dates. That letter is sent to the Mexican fiance(e) and the petitioner. I got the letter here in the states before she got hers in Mexico. You need go to their website...

and step through all that. What you'll want to make sure you get to is the K1 Fiance Packet PDF found below That will tell you everything you need to know. You should also read the embassy reviews. Ours is there..people relay their experiences and advice on where to stay and eat. Plan on a several days there (4 nights 3 days minimum).

Hope that helps.
