My husband and I have our his greencard interview next Wednesday. Today, we had our appointment with our lawyer to review all of our evidence and to run through a mock interview. I think both he and I are even more stressed and anxious than before. I think in part because it's approaching so quickly.

I mean, I know we should be fine. We have plenty of evidence, with bills, bank accounts, utitilies, cards, pictures, letters, insurance, etc. Our relationship is completely genuine. But we're both scared right now. One week until one of the most important days of this whole process, for what we've been waiting for for months. One week for a yes or a no, and it could change everything.

Anyone else have their interview approaching and starting to freak out a bit?

Hey, sweetest....I don't recall seeing you here before! Nice to make your acquaintance.

Our interview is in 17 days. I think my husband is cool with it so far, but I'm starting to get a little freaky about it. I know I need to start going thru papers this week....I am so ready to be done with this for a while.....

Hello, nice to meet you as well!

I see yours is from the North as well? Where, if I may ask?

I'm just nervous. Even the possibility of a no, of losing him, is enough to make me feel sick. I almost feel like I did when we lived apart while waiting for the visa approval. When our visits were almost over and I had to go home and who knows when I would see him again.

Gah, I'm freaking out, but I just want this to be done with!

I freaked out when we got out letter. Like...FREAKED. Everyone on this forum remembers! ;) Then I felt really calm and sure about it for months. Then 2 days before, I freaked again. And now I realized how silly I was being, because it was not that big a deal...at all. It was like being back in the embassy for a K-1 visa. You will be fine, I promise you.

It's scary, because your whole world and future is riding on this one decision on Wednesday. It frightens you. But it's that big decision that scares you, because it means so much to you. Were this a small issue about something else in life, it wouldn't seem so bad. So just try and keep calm, because the interview is thorough, but a breeze and you seem to have your evidence in order.

Once it's done, you'll laugh about being so worried.

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!

Too funny......Our interview is also next Wednesday (3-1-06) in Philly . We met with our attorney last week and she said it was a piece of cake (also plenty of joint bills :help: , a house purchased together, etc. etc) but I already have the jitters. Hubby who is the one adjusting status is calm as a cucumber  .

I was lucky enough to get transferred to CSC and so I got my greencard without an interview. But, having read all the others' threads on their interview experiences it will be a piece of cake! I am sure that if you are genuine the interviewing officer will be able to tell right away and it will be nothing more than a fomality.

Good luck everyone, I will have my fingers crossed for you all.

Our interview is next Friday and I am beginning to have a bad case of nerves as well. We really dont have too much financial info, only have him as a authorized user on two of my credit card bills so far. So that worries me a bit, that and my co sponsor doesnt have an employment letter. So the financial stuff is freaking me.

We have plenty of other evidence, just the financial aspect hasnt come together yet. He is still looking for a job, and I dont have a regular job, so I havent added him to the bank account just yet.

And I live with Mom, in her house, using her car, so havent added him to any of that. So no joint banking account, no insurance, no life insurance, no joint names on any of it just yet. We WILL get there, but its only been six months and sis and mom have been picking up the bills in the meantime til we get "on our feet". So no joint bills either.

We should be ok, we have enuff other stuff that I am hoping it makes up for the lack, but I still like to be a little more on the ball than what I have, even tho I have done what I could.

This is what I have above and beyond the stuff listed on the interview letter of course:

Plenty of letters and cards from friends, family, etc addressed to both of us

Copy of his drivers license

Copy of his state ID

Copy of his fishing license

Copy of his Social Security Card

Copy of tickets of trip taken together to visit his relatives in New York

Copy of ticket of his Uncle visiting us in Nebraska

Copy of authorized user for my two credit cards

and photo album of wedding, above said visits, Christmas, etc...

Good luck to you on Wednesday, I will be thinking of you. :)

That's the one thing we have ...boatloads of financial info. Joint bank, credit cards and when we bought a house he didn't have a SSN yet, so he couldn't be added to the mortgage but I insisted that he be put on the deed so his name is on the HUD-1/tax bills/HOA bills. What we don't have is loads of photos (we do have a few). Hubby is a photographer so he's always behind the camera and we both hate having our pic taken.

It's funny I'm nervous and he's as calm as a cucumber.
