Well we are officially getting married in Mexico sometime in between May 10th and May 16th, and then applying for his CR-1. You would think he would be here by Christmas then right? I already have my dress and rings now (i work fast haha) and have been talking to a wedding planner down there about the actual ceremony and all of the ridiculous paperwork you have to fill out to marry a national. So hopefully it will be smooth sailing until may, and then we'll jump into his visa application.

Christmas this year would be pushing it.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Hmmm. Someone else said on here too that it takes like a year but every chart i've seen online says the processing time is only 5 months. I have no experience in this at all so is there something im missing when i'm reading about the processing times?

THe processing time that you see online is just for the petition, which is the first step. After that there is a month or two at NVC, then some time (1-3 months perhaps) waiting for an interview in Mexico.

I thought the same thing when I started this but it's true there are other steps and unknown factors so they say to never set a date until the visa's in hand! Check out these timelines:

It says the average total time right now is 316 days. So maybe winter IS pushing it a little, or you might get lucky!
