Receipt not working

Received my NOA1 about 3 weeks ago and id like to check the status online, not that I expect it to be updated really but I figure at some point it would be handy. I punch in the receipt number in the USCIS website on the status check page but it gives me an error, it says I can call but I prefer to avoid that headache. Am I doing something wrong???

Make sure you are putting in all the number with the abbreciated Letters at the beginning or it could be just a glitch with the site

try use caps no spaces, EAC1212121212 or not in the system yet or it's a glitch in the suite,

I wouldn't worry too much. It took 1 month for my latest receipt number to appear online, nothing had happened during that month of course :-) It will hopefully appear at some stage. They don't always update their system in a timely manner.
