hi fellow vj members,

i have some questions regarding my son's paper, we have just received his approval from the uscis dated february 15, and stating that it was approved and sent to nvc already. now, how long does it take for an IR2 visa to approved by the nvc? we haven't received any notice from them, but hopefully this coming week we'll receive something from them. does anyone of you guys have the same case/s as mine? your info and comments are highly appreciated...thank you so much in advance :)

The NVC does not approve visas. US Embassies and Consulates issues visas.

The NVC collects fees and documents such as the Affidavit of Support and Immigration Visa Application. The collected documents are forwarded to the US Embassies and Consulates. The US Embassies and Consulates conduct the immigration interview. The US Embassies and Consulates makes the determination on issuing visas.

Once USCIS approves the I-130 and forwards it the NVC, the NVC will issue the letter for the AOS and IV fees.

Read the "Guides" above to get an understanding of the process.
