Well they aren't wasting any time moving that information on to the USCIS website. I received an email late yesterday afternoon advising that the NOA1 was on it's way and already today the case number is showing up at USCIS. Fingers crossed they continue to be efficient!

Sorry to hear that you're still waiting. If they say they've received it and your check has been cashed, it should be alright. We only just got our NOA1 in the mail on monday (21st march) and we sent in our package on the 7th as well. From what I've read on VJ, the e-notification form doesn't always get you a notification via text or email. And it seems the NOA1 sometimes takes much longer for some people (or may have gotten lost in transit or something). Did they say when the hard copy NOA1 was sent out?

The not knowing can really make you crazy and I understand what you mean about being angry at your husband. My husband sent ours to an address that was slightly different than what's printed on the form (the +4 number behind the postal code wasn't the same). We were both worried about it until we got our NOA1, even though he didn't show it as much as I did. He later told me that my fussing about the address thing made him feel like an idiot. I'm sure your husband is as worried as you are about this, and feels bad about making a mistake about the money order the first time round. Perhaps, like mine, he just feels like someone needs to be the level-headed one through all this craziness?

Hang in there, I hope your NOA1 arrives soon! Although, I'd give it another couple of weeks before calling USCIS to see if they'll send another copy. Read a thread some time ago where someone said that USCIS refused to look into their concerns about not receiving NOA1 until after a month had passed. Link to specific post here.

Thnakyou for the encouragement. However, hes really in the dog house with me right now. Long story which id rather not get into but we dont actually know if the money order has been cashed or if its on its way. And they wont tell me until 30 days- but even then i read they just tell you to wait longer? How ridiculous! i will try to find out if money order been cashed, but i dont know how to do this. We didn't get tracking so we have no idea if its even got there.

Where did you get your money order from? Is there a telephone number you can call or a website listed on the receipt where you can check if it's been cashed?

Hello Utopia2004,

I can definitely relate on how stressful you must feel. Did he keep exact copies of the I-130 packet submitted? If so, take a look at the copy of the money order and somewhere on there (front or back or perforated slip), you'll find a website or 800 number to call to verify if its been cashed. You'll need the money order # to obtain this information. Where did he purchase money order? If from his bank, they'll be able to let him know if it's been cashed or not.

Good luck to you both! (F)

Hey guys I just checked my status on uscis.gov and I just signed up to get email and text notifications. Anyways I noticed that it says under "last updated" March 14, 2011. Does that mean an "touche" because my priority date is March 8, 2011. So what does that mean?

You have to register an account on the USCIS website (link here) to check touches. Once you have registered your receipt number to that newly created account with USCIS, you can sign in to your account to check your case.

You'll see a table in the format:

Receipt Number, E-mail Alert, Mobile Alert, Last Updated, Form No., Form Title

Everytime that "last updated" date changes, you've been touched! :)
