Just don't get your hopes up too much please. I did that. Before I started this whole process, I thought the whole application process took only 3-6 months. Boy was I naive! Now I know it will take 7-12 months or longer. That knowledge hurts because I really miss my wife, but we can't do much about it!

We're all in this together though, eh?

When we went through the process for the I-129f I was checking my status multiple times a day and to be honest it takes a toll. I think it's always nice to think that "you" may be one of those lucky people but it's very important to keep it in perspective or you'll end up driving yourself crazy, and that wait seems a lot longer when all you do is obsess about getting to the next step...I was guilty of it I'll admit lol. I think these forums are great for checking in and when you think OMG come on!!!! You can come in and know that you aren't the only one and that there's not something particular holding you up....it's just the process and we are all in it together for a good while now...One bright spot is that Spring is here....Only 3 more seasons to go LOL.

I have very realistic expectations....8 to 12 months is what I'm estimating. Perhaps, give or take a few months. Yes, waiting can be depressing at times. Yet, we need to remind ourselves what's on the other end of this journey...

A little excitement here and there....help to keep our spirits up! :star::star::star:

Yeah I'm expecting for the worst. But my lawyer told me to prepare some kind of binder with pics, phone records, emails, letters, cards. So that's keeping me busy hehe I'm really enjoying organizing our stuff. I'm trying to make it as easy as I can for my hubby so when he does get the binder he can put his stuff like cards, letters, I sent him in the binder himself at the right place.

I don't check my case status everyday... But I've only just managed to stop obsessively checking VJ in the last couple of days. :hehe:

I must agree, time seems to pass more quickly when I have other non-immigration-related things to obsess about.

My hubby just said last night that it's hard to believe we're already half a month into our wait! Hope the remaining time passes as quickly.:dance::dance:

I am getting really frustrated!!!

We filed on the 7th of march, and have not heard anything. No email text or hard copy!!! I included the E notification form as well.

First time we sent it, it got sent back due to my husband putting the wrong amount on it on the money order.

He didnt get tracking so we didnt even though if it got there! He said he called them and they said they had it, cashed the check etc, and were sending the hard copy. This was last week and still no hard copy. im so angry at him and know i shouldnt be!! sorry for the rant. im the only one who seems to care whats happening with it!

It's stressful I'm sure. Maybe if he gets a chance he could call them back and let them know a receipt was never received and they could send another one out or at least give you your number off the form that you can use to register with the USCIS.

Sorry to hear that you're still waiting. If they say they've received it and your check has been cashed, it should be alright. We only just got our NOA1 in the mail on monday (21st march) and we sent in our package on the 7th as well. From what I've read on VJ, the e-notification form doesn't always get you a notification via text or email. And it seems the NOA1 sometimes takes much longer for some people (or may have gotten lost in transit or something). Did they say when the hard copy NOA1 was sent out?

The not knowing can really make you crazy and I understand what you mean about being angry at your husband. My husband sent ours to an address that was slightly different than what's printed on the form (the +4 number behind the postal code wasn't the same). We were both worried about it until we got our NOA1, even though he didn't show it as much as I did. He later told me that my fussing about the address thing made him feel like an idiot. I'm sure your husband is as worried as you are about this, and feels bad about making a mistake about the money order the first time round. Perhaps, like mine, he just feels like someone needs to be the level-headed one through all this craziness?

Hang in there, I hope your NOA1 arrives soon! Although, I'd give it another couple of weeks before calling USCIS to see if they'll send another copy. Read a thread some time ago where someone said that USCIS refused to look into their concerns about not receiving NOA1 until after a month had passed. Link to specific post here.
